3-4-u round tin

round notesround tin w/ notes

here’s a cute little project that i whipped up the other day (yeah, right) for my stamper’s club. no, the colors don’t all exactly go together, but what the heck! i cut each circular note card using my cricut . you gotta love that cricut when you’re cutting 50 little circular note cards in a matter of about 30 minutes.  the tin measures about 2 1/4″. each circular note card was cut using “real dial size” set to 2″. i folded each note card and used the scallop circle punch in coordinating colors to layer onto each circular note. i punched 1 3/8″ circles to layer on top of each scallop and stamped as desired. in my samples, i used the following color combinations from left to right:

  • night of navy, always artichoke
  • chocolate chip, regal rose
  • basic black, bashful blue
  • purely pomegranate, wild wasabi

the tin bottom was covered with purely pomegranate textured cardstock. i wrapped the lid of the tin with wild wasabi double-stitched ribbon and adhered a faux bow to the front.

other accessories used for this project include:

  • three for you punch box
  • white gel pen
  • wild wasabi double-stitched ribbon
  • basic black ink
  • night of navy ink
  • always artichoke ink
  • regal rose ink
  • bashful blue ink
  • purely pomegranate ink
  • wild wasabi ink

enjoy your day! happy stamping!!!

simplicity at its best

True Friendi had a few extra minutes the other night and decided to do a little stamping. here’s what i came up with. i used a card off of nicole heady’s website {capture the moment} for inspiration. she is my kind of designer; simple and elegant.

my true friend project starts with certainly celery cardstock folded to 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″. i used the small corner rounder to create my scallops in whisper white. these were placed behind another certainly celery panel. whisper white panel was stamped with purely pomegranate and then layered on top of the certainly celery panel. the “true friend” panel was stamped on whisper white with purely pomegranate and layered onto certainly celery. i “dyed” a flower from the pretties kit with pomegranate ink, placed a silver brad through the center and attached it to the tag. certainly celery grosgrain was attached to the side of the tag and the tag was popped up using rubber scraps.

enjoy your day! thanks for looking!

color challenge 128

groovy skiesa few weeks ago, my kids and i went to my good friend’s house in richmond, va. we had such a fun time visiting with them. they just moved back to virginia from connecticut. we’re so glad they’re back so close to us.

i thought of her while making the splitcoast challenge this week. since i’m still quite new to this whole challenge thing, i decided to keep it simple. i really liked the color combination.

i started with cardstock that was 4 1/4″ x 11″. folded it in half at 5 1/2″. i cut about 1 1/2″ off the right side of the card and then layered the soft sky onto that. used by small corner rounder without the guard to make the scallops along the edge. i also punched holes into each scallop with the paper piercing tool from the crafters tool kit. on the whisper white layer, i stamped flowers from the just like you set in groovy guava and soft sky. i also stamped and cut out three flowers in groovy guava and adhered them using dimensionals. the saying is from define your life and is stamped in stazon black. that panel is layered onto groovy guava and then again on soft sky. i added one of those cute little black library clips as an accent.

kyle at little beachkids & kyle at little beachin addition to a little stamping, we had another fabulous day at the “little beach” as evident by the pictures of the frolicking kids and dog. the kids (and the dog) just can’t get enough of the water or the sand, as usual. the weather has been perfect for lounging and chatting while we watch the pelicans dive into the water to kyle & kids at the little beachnate & kylecatch some fish. there’s only one bad thing… you know all those planes that carry those banners down the beach? well, the airport is right where the “little beach” is. do you know how many webkinz banners flew by us today? lemme tell ya’… way too many!!!

enjoy the rest of your evening! hope to have more stuff tomorrow. i’m off to stamp some more.

my 1st sketch challenge (SC137)

sc137my wonderful sister-in-law and i left a day early for our vacation to manteo, nc. we took the kids with us and the husbands followed a day later. we have the best time when we’re together when we go on vacation… for that matter whenever we get together. the very first day we were here, i wasn’t feeling so well and she took all four kids to the “little beach.” i did have enough energy to stamp, so i thought i would try a challenge. i’m not usually one to participate in the scs sketch challenges. heck, i don’t usually participate in ANY challenges. since my creativity has been absent for the past year, i thought i would try something a little different… something that would give me a little jump start.

i started with sketch 137 from scs. card base is chocolate chip 4 1/4 x 5 1/2. first layer is 4 x 5 1/4 outlaw designer series paper. i crumpled it then flattened it out. chocolate chip ink was applied over the high spots of the crumpled paper. the bottom “wanted” layer is really rust cut to 1 1/8 by 4. the “wanted” 1 x 3 7/8 layer is stamped with chocolate chip on very vanilla. if you look really closely, i “overstamped” it in creamy caramel for a shadowed effect. the stars are stamped in really rust and have a silver brad in the center of each. the bigger layer is a 3 1/8″ really rust square with paper piercing on the sides. the chocolate chip layer is 2 5/8″ square. it’s popped up with dimensionals to make it look like a real frame. i used my 12″ cutter to cut out a frame for the inside. the corners are pierced with the paper piercing tool. the inside of the frame is very vanilla stamped with really rust and a silver brad is centered in the design. i used a small bit of very vanilla grosgrain to tie on the side.

i’d love to hear your comments.  leave one if you would.  🙂
